I went out feeding with Marlboro Man this morning.
Going feeding with Marlboro Man always seems to bring everything back to center. I can’t explain why.
I think it just somehow strips everything away and it’s just about the ranch and the cattle. And I get to watch Marlboro Man do his thing.
And it’s the same thing he’s done since the day I met him, which is also a comfort.
I should add that he weighs about the same as the day I met him. This is not a comfort. Ha.
I’ve shown you the process of Marlboro Man chopping ice on the ponds before.
But I think I’ll show you again.
Ponds are the main source of water for cattle on our ranch.
So when they’re frozen, the guys have to chop a new hole in the surface each day so the cattle will be able to drink.
Todd chopped this same hole yesterday, and it’s already frozen solid as if nothing happened. This is a daily chore when it’s this cold outside!
Again, I love going to work with Marlboro Man. There’s something about his quiet dedication to his work on the ranch. He doesn’t say much about it, he just does it.
And I love watching him do it!
