We shipped cattle on Saturday morning, and while it started out clear…by the time the cattle trucks rolled in, you could see trouble brewing in the distance.
And then it started pouring! And here’s the deal with shipping: It has to happen, come hell or high water, because the cattle buyer and all the trucks are showing up, and it would be too much hassle (and expense) to cancel and reschedule. It doesn’t rain very often during shipping season, but when it does, I always know they won’t be able to quit until all the cattle are gathered, weighed, and loaded. It’s just part of it.
Todd was completely drenched. And so were the cattle. And so was everything!
Not that you’ll catch anyone complaining. A rain in July is a blessing, no matter when it happens. (Todd just wishes it would have happened a couple of hours later.)
Rowdy feels the same way! Aw, poor cowgirl. She definitely earned her stripes. I wanted to run over and wrap her in a blanket, but she likes being one of the big kids and probably wouldn’t have wanted the cowboys to see her giving in.
They breed ’em tough out here in the country! Ha.
