Fun Frozen Treats for the Fourth! by PW Food & Friends

Fun Frozen Treats for the Fourth! by PW Food & Friends

Fourth of July week is finally here! Time to celebrate summer and our country’s independence with family and friends … and food! Always food. A lot of us go the classic burger and hot dog route for our cookouts, but the possibilities are endless. All the great summer produce makes for great side dishes and desserts. Think corn-on-the-cob, fresh tomatoes and the best and sweetest berries!

Assuming you already have your cookout or other main dishes planned out, we thought it would be fun to share some ideas for sweet treats. And what better treat for a summer gathering than ice cream? If you need some ideas for elevating store-bought ice cream for fun dessert options, look no further!

Dipped and Decorated Ice Cream Cones. The kids will love these. And by kids, we mean kids aged 1 to 101. Ice cream cones made even more fun!

Blackberry Soda Float on The Pioneer Woman: Food & Friends. (Recipe and post from Jessica Merchant of How Sweet It Is)

Blackberry Soda Floats. Did we mention delicious summer berries? Here they are in luscious syrup form. Floats on the fourth! Make it a thing.

2-Ingredient Hot Fudge. Every scoop of ice cream could stand to be flooded with warm, creamy hot fudge sauce. Here’s our favorite quick, easy version.

Peanut Butter and Pretzel Icebox Cake. Icebox cake! So great to make in advance. And such a crowd pleaser. Here’s one for the peanut butter and chocolate lovers.

We also can’t help but mention these ice cream cookie sandwiches again. Such a fun and relatively simple dessert to throw together!

There you have ’em! Ice cream treats for everyone! Tell us in the comments about your favorite Fourth of July traditions or foods you love to serve at your festivities! Hope you all have a safe and happy holiday week!
