Sure, Sunday will always be Funday. But now that winter has finally—and tangibly—loosened its grip and especially because the Easter holiday is just around the corner, this is the week that Sunday puts on a pretty pastel dress (or a sharp seersucker suit) and calls itself Brunchday.
Since Sunday is making an effort to dress up nice, how about you? Do you have any special plans lined up this week? If you’re hosting a brunch this weekend and need an idea or two for your menu, allow us to share some of our current favorites!
Natural Food Coloring for Icing. Have cookies that need decorating? These lovely colors are all natural, from ingredients like matcha powder, freeze-dried fruit, and tea powder. (And if you want to explore the world of natural food coloring a little more, Bridget can show you how to naturally dye Easter eggs, too!)
Easter Chocolate Coconut Truffle Spoons. These little gems even look like eggs on a stick! They’re fun treats and the spoons make things less messy. Anything that gets more chocolate in your mouth instead of your hands is a good thing.
Chocolate Crepes with Orange Cream Cheese Filling. Speaking of chocolate, look at these crepes. The orange cream has citrus and Vitamin C, which cancels out all the other calories, yes?
Pancetta Ricotta Crepes with Red Pepper Cream. Or go the savory route with these babies. The red pepper sauce really brings all the flavors together!
How to Set Up a Crepe Bar. If you can’t choose (because really, you can’t have just one crepe), a crepe bar may be the answer. And if you assemble your own, that’s kinda like a light Sunday workout. Right?
How to Make Drop Biscuits. Or maybe drop biscuits are more your thing? Ree makes a mean sausage gravy to spoon generously all over those warm biscuits. And oh, speaking of sausage, who knew making your own breakfast sausage could be so easy?
6 Ways to Elevate White Bread. Toast is never boring, not when you top it with deliciousness like avocado and lox, caramelized onions and bacon, artichokes and ricotta …
How to Make Gravlax. Knock everyone’s socks off when you tell them, “Oh yeah, I made that.”
Chipotle Honey Chicken and Waffle Sliders. The ultimate brunch food: a classic breakfast dish meets lunch comfort food.
Chorizo Breakfast Tacos. Or hey, maybe a huge brunch spread isn’t part of your weekend plans. Maybe you’ll just sleep in, kick back, and enjoy an easy brunch with minimal prep. We get it. You know what you need? Breakfast tacos. Preferably with chorizo. Trust us.
Brunch food is the best, isn’t it? It’s an excuse to eat pancakes and eggs and bacon, plus all the other lunch and supper dishes we love. It’s a win-win! We hope some of these ideas inspire you. Let us know if we missed any of your favorites!
