Party season is upon us! Who’s ready?
The moment the holidays start approaching, most people I know take on one of two new personalities. Some turn into a mini Martha, cooking lavish meals and endless goodies, then crafting into the wee hours of the morning. Others curl into the fetal position, a human ball of stress, fearfully fretting over every upcoming event.
If you tend to be the hyped-up holiday go-getter, get it girl! But if the idea of parties, and shopping, and traffic, and extended family gives you hives, not to mention having to cook dishes to take to events all season, then I’ve got something just for you today!
This ridiculously simple 2-ingredient wonder, known as Reese’s Bark, is the easiest and most crowd-pleasing trick I’ve got up my holiday sweater sleeve this year.
It’s not even a recipe.
That’s right, no recipe. Take a breath.
It’s an easy 5-minute fun treat that’s great as a take-along, or an edible gift.
All you need is:
a 20-ounce package chocolate almond bark (or chocolate)
1 pound of Mini Reeses Cups
You simple cut Mini Reeses Cups in half so you can see the insides.
Then melt almond bark or chocolate in the microwave. I usually do this in 1-minute increments, then stir in between, to make sure I don’t over-nuke the chocolate.
Pour the melted chocolate out on a large piece of wax paper.
Spread it thin.
Then quickly sprinkle on the Reeses halves before the chocolate dries.
That’s it!
Once it hardens, cut or break the Reeses Bark into pieces, place on a holiday platter, and go!
Reeses Bark is fun to make and even more fun to eat.
If you don’t like Reeses Cups, you can use any small chocolate candy you like. York Peppermint Patties, Butterfinger Bites, and Whoppers are all good choices.
It’s so simple you don’t need to measure, or even turn on the oven. Just cut, melt, sprinkle, and break.
You’ve got this!
Now there’s no need to stress this holiday season.
If your annoying Aunt Ruth starts asking personal questions you don’t want to answer, just give her a piece of Reese’s Bark and walk away.
Chocolate and peanut butter to the rescue. No harm, no foul!
