5 MIN HAIR, 4 WAYS

5 MIN HAIR, 4 WAYS

We all need to have a couple of mega-fast ways to dress up our hair on the fly. The holidays are in full swing, so while I figured the timing of this post is impeccable, you can use these gems all year ’round (pun intended) as they’re not really “holiday specific”. Below you’ll see a couple of ideas for taking your hair from zero to hero in 5 min or less, without heat styling tools. Oh!  And before we get going, I should tell you, Emily’s hair was air-dried using only a little leave-in conditioner. Okay, let’s go!

A FAUX SWOOP BANG W OVERSIZED BOBBY PINS.

Take your 1/2/3 day old hair to the next level with a texture spray of some kind. My favorites are THIS ONE from Sexy Hair and THIS ONE from Oribe.

Add some large bobby pins, like THESE ONES.

ADD A LITTLE SPARKLE.

Use a light weight shine spray to create a sleek/chic pony. Here we used THIS ONE which smells like heaven.

Add something sparkly. Always have a few good ACCESSORIES on tap. Here we used THIS ONE. But I’m also feeling THIS THIS and THIS.

THROW A BOW ON IT.

Join two sections together in the back using a clear elastic.

Use a MATTIFYING SPRAY or POWDER to create some grit on the strands you’re going to use for the bow. My advise is to grab the strands for the bow from underneath the elastic.

Make two loops to create the bow and secure with bobby pins.

BRAID IT. DUH.

Add some STYLING CREAM to your brushed out ponytail.

Create a traditional 3 strand braid.

Create a bun shape, or elongated bun like this one by coiling the braid and pinning it with large bobby pins.

If you want, add in some sparkly chain or necklace to your braid before you roll it up for a little somethin’ extra.
